This information is provided for members who have received a message from Pace Water System or Santa Rosa County notifying them of a "Precautionary Boil Water Notice" affecting their area. Precautionary boil water notices are issued when damage to the water main occurs and/or service pressure drops below a 20 psi threshold. As a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or wahsing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative bottled water may be used.
This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. A second notice will be sent out notifying affected members that the precautionary boil water notice has been rescinded.
